The iPhone 7 is one of the most anticipated devices this year(next year is more like it – I’ll explain later) and definitely the most controversial as we are fed details only in bits. This time around, what we know is that it is to come with an all glass body – similar to the Samsung Galaxy S series. It is also to come with a curved OLED display. A unibody glass build has two major advantages:
1. It aids fast wireless charging
2. It enhances cell reception.
Although Apple has been known to rock this type of build before – the iPhone 4 and 4s to be precise; they discontinued this because of the effect cracks on the back had on the overall stylish design.
This time around, that should not be a problem as glass durability has increased since the iPhone 4 days.
It is also important to note that rumor has it that the iPhone 7 might be released in 2017 and not 2016; although this might be a downer, it gives them time to add a lot of features.
Adding an all metal body might not make up for removing the 3.5mm head phone jack but it sure is a step in the right direction. Below is a mock up of a possible prototype of the iPhone 7.
There is still a lot that we do not know about this device but as time progresses, we sure will keep you updated. Oh, lest I forget, next year is iPhone’s 10th anniversary which might explain the delay of this device(I’m just saying its a possible reason). Got anything to add or ask?
