When it comes to marketing, there are a number of ways to pitch your products. From having an insane budgets for ads or convincing people to buy a particular product that you’re closely affiliated with. Ntel chose the latter approach. You probably know that NTEL is a mobile network provider in Nigeria that claims to offer 4G LTE services. Although this service is only currently available in some select locations in Nigeria and not all mobile devices support this natively, they decided to even streamline this more by introducing a smartphone of their own – kinda. The Konka R2 isn’t what you would call “High End”, but neither is it horrible.

The Konka R2 is a 5.5″ device that sports medium to high-end specs in some parts. The build quality is somewhat premium-ish. Apart from that, nothing spectacular about the device. Another thing that seems to stand out is the fact that it has a 2,700mAh battery. Is it just me or does that feel inadequate for a 4G LTE device. But, as always, all these are just specs on paper. Only real everyday usage will determine whether or not this device is worth it.
Speaking of this device in relation to NTEL, well, I for one have not seen extraordinary internet connectivity speeds with NTEL. Maybe, just maybe this phone is tweaked to work well with NTEL SIMs and will provide better data experiences, but hey, that’s just wishful thinking.
