There isn’t one avid gamer or even an average gamer that has not heard of Gameloft. They make, I daresay the best games around(I’m up for counter arguments). From the famous Asphalt series, to March of Empires, to World at Arms, the list goes on but I guess you get the point by now; they make really sick games and now, it gets even better for Nigerians as they have decided to have an operational base here in Nigeria.
According to Vincent Brezillon, Gameloft Sales Director for Africa, he claims they see a potential user-base of about 375 million people. I’ll let him speak;
“The opening of a new trade office in Africa will allow us to take advantage of the considerable potential of a market that already includes more than 367 million users.”
“The success that we’ve experienced since the opening of our Johannesburg office, and surging sales in Africa over the last two years, completely justify the opening of a subsidiary in Nigeria, which is Africa’s strongest economy. In addition, this presence will facilitate interactions with our current and future local partners.”
It is quite important to note that Nigeria is not the first African country Gameloft would establish it’s presence; actually it is the second after the initial launch of an outlet in Johannesburg in 2012.
The exact address of this “Office” is unknown at this time but it will most likely be in Lagos, Nigeria. I personally look forward to what these guys plan to do in conjunction with our local ISPs. Fingers crossed.
